New Director of Nursing for Short-Term Skilled Care

Clark-Lindsey welcomes Alexa Stephens, RN as the new director of Renewal Therapy Center. Stephens is responsible for planning, directing and evaluating activities of the Medicare-certified skilled nursing units, collectively referred to as Renewal Therapy Center. She works closely with the new Director of Residential Skilled Care and the Green House Homes Guide to coordinate resident care activities relating to overall resident and family satisfaction.

Before coming to Clark-Lindsey, Alexa was the Director of Nursing (DON) at Shelbyville Rehab and Healthcare Center in Shelbyville, IL. Alexa has also worked as a Home Care Nurse Case Manager at St. Anthony’s in Effingham, as a Nurse Mentor at Tutera Healthcare in Mattoon and at Sarah Bush Lincoln. Alexa started her healthcare career as a CNA, and has continued her education becoming a licensed practical nurse (LPN), then a registered nurse (RN) and is currently working on her Masters of Science Nursing (MSN) Nurse Educator degree. Alexa also has a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Illinois University with a concentration in leadership and development.

Alexa has a determined and dedicated concern for patient safety, service excellence, staff satisfactions, and team collaboration. She has eight years’ experience in the nursing practice within a multi-disciplinary environment including long-term, clinical, hospital, and home care. In her educational experiences Alexa received the Marilyn Fuqua Thompson Excellence in Nursing Award at Lake Land College and graduated from the Lumpkin School of Business and Technology at Eastern Illinois University.
